Greater Southwest Dental Meeting

Wednesday, March 30th, 2011

I recently attended the “Greater Southwest Dental Meeting” in Phoenix, Arizona, where I had the opportunity to personally meet with Jim and Naomi Rhode, nationally-known speakers and the develpers of SmartPractice, a dental consulting and product firm.  These two fine people have inspired thousands of dentists and their staffs to provide fabulous care for their patients.  Visiting with them is a special treat for both me and my wife, Wendy, as their optimism and values are contagious; they, too, have the passion for general and cosmetic dentistry that we have!  (Naomi is a member of the Speakers Hall of Fame, and is the sister of Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity “Achievement Award”  winner Dr. Omar Reed).

P.S. I was able to see the Cleveland Indians play twice in Goodyear, Arizona, against the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Chicago White Sox, who had my favorite player, Omar Vizquel, at shortstop.  The Tribe looked good, but we still need “pitching, pitching, and more pitching!”

Novacain Reversal, Digital Impressions & Skype Make Dental Visits Easier!

Wednesday, June 2nd, 2010

Hey everyone, I have very exciting news. The segment that NBC-Channel 3 News anchor Monica Robins filmed at our office on advances in dentistry went national. It was picked up by local networks and shown around the country!

In our efforts to make dental visits easier on our patients, we have employed some very advanced products and technologies. The segment on NBC featured the use of Oraverse to reverse the affects of novacaine, making digital impressions with the Itero machine and the use of Skype to communicate with dental labs.

Porcelain Veneers & Crowns

Wednesday, May 19th, 2010

What type and strength of porcelain do we use in our crowns and veneers?

Over the years, we have transitioned to a non-metal practice, even in our partial dentures, with the help of Dental Ceramics Laboratories. We use Empress E-max porcelain, which is up to three times stronger that the other porcelains on the market. It not only creates an extremely strong and durable porcelain veneer, it is also quite beautiful!

For more information about these procedures, see our Dental Crowns and Porcelain Veneers pages.

Cleveland Cosmetic & General Dental Practice Focuses on the Patient

Saturday, May 15th, 2010

I just returned from Seattle for an Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity symposium, where featured speaker Steve Anderson focused on making the patient experience a pleasant one.  Much of what our staff does, from our early morning (7 a.m.) huddle to warm towels to follow-up calls, was very much in line with Mr. Anderson’s recommendations.  Ideas were shared with fellow dentists from both the U.S. and Canada, and we are already putting some of those thoughts to work in our Cleveland Cosmetic and General dental practice

We welcome your suggestions as well!
