Because of a couple of recently published news articles, I’ve had a number of  questions about my new position as International President-Elect of the Alpha Omega Dental Fraternity, a group of  about 4,000 dentists from all over the world, with nearly 100 alumni and student chapters.  The comments, including congratulatory wishes, were often focused on how it would affect our schedule, both in and out of the office.

Much of the AO work that I need to do can be done over the internet and via phone, including “go to meeting” and other web-based sites.  Most of our visits, as Wendy will be coming with me, can be accomplished over a weekend (i.e. leaving Friday afternoon and returning on Sunday – like we’re doing at the end of this month to help celebrate the Atlanta chapter’s 80th anniversary).

When the visit takes a little longer, like journeys to Europe and Israel, to mention just a few, we’ll keep it to 5-7 days.  Thankfully, we have a wonderful staff, including two EFDAs (Traci and Deb) and two hygienists (Amy and Debbie) who can help with most emergencies; additionally, we have a number of other dentists and specialists who have kindly agreed to help our patients in case of any problems beyond those that our staff may handle.

And, most importantly, I can be reached wherever we are, directly or through our answering service, at 1-440-461-1003; I’m always available to take your calls, questions, and comments!
