Monday, December 19th, 2011

Last week, we were featured on a segment of WKYC’s morning program ‘Good Company.’ Dr. Marsh sat down with Joe Cronauer to discuss our passion for those in the teaching profession, and our passion for helping our patients achieve the perfect smile. You can watch our segment in the video window below. Be sure to head over to Cleveland Smiles on Facebook to let us know what you think, or contact us if you would like to learn more about improving your smile this holiday season.

Win Starbucks Gift Cards for Referrals

Monday, November 28th, 2011

Our new bi-monthly e-mail contests, created by our office manager Afsaneh, have proven to be very popular.  When we let you know about our WKYC-TV “Golden Opportunity” appearances, Afsaneh includes a quotation that our e-mail recipients are asked to identify; the first three people (after all, the show is on channel 3 in Cleveland) who guess the origin correctly receive a $10 Starbucks card.  Among our first winners, Sheila H. exclaimed that it was “the first time I’ve ever won anything!!!”  We congratulate her and the other winners.

Speaking of Starbucks,  we are thanking those of you who refer patients to our office with a $25 gift card.  Beyond the card, I should let you know that referrals to your family, friends, and colleagues are extremely gratifying to all of us, as you are making us one of the top dentists in Cleveland!  Thanks again for all of your support.

Mouth Guards Guard Your Mouth!

Monday, September 5th, 2011

As we move into the fall season, with the Cleveland Indians and Cleveland Browns both in action, we’re reminded that it’s a good idea for our athletes to wear mouth guards when they, too, are at play – whether for baseball, football, or even weightlifting.   They can be custom-made in our office with the help of a good impression in the colors of your favorite team.  But if you can’t make it in, the “boil and bite” guards, found in sporting goods stores like Dick’s are a fairly good substitute.  Please let us know if we can help!

Top Dentists

Monday, August 29th, 2011

In a letter we received on August 1st,  we were honored to find out that we have been selected by a vote of our peers to be included in the list of “Top Cleveland Dentists” which will be published in the October issue of  “Cleveland Magazine.” The honor is shared with our wonderful staff, including Afsaneh, Karin, Amy, Marilyn, Suzanne, and Wendy, as well as part-timers Shirley, Barbara, and Jill; as you might expect, it is especially gratifying.  And, of course, we couldn’t have done it without you, our patients!!

Receive Wonderful Care From Our Dental Hygienists

Monday, July 4th, 2011

In order to accommodate all of our patients, family, and friends, your office here at ClevelandSmiles is fortunate to have a number of very capable and enthusiastic dental hygienists.   They include Amy B., who has been with us on a full-time basis for seven years, and Barbara G., and Jill O., who work with us  a couple of days per week.  All three women have excellent skills, training and provide wonderful care.  If you would like to see one of them in particular, please let Afsaneh and Karin know so that we may fulfill your request.  Having such a wonderful staff is especially important during this time of year when students are home from school.

Speaking of school, and colleges in particular, we are proud of a number of high school seniors who have graduated and, in some cases, are moving on to college.  Miami University (my undergraduate alma mater) and The Ohio State University (where I attended dental school) are popular choices, though we also have patients who were accepted to schools including Princeton and Duke.  Our congratulations go out to all the graduates!

New Flatscreen TVs in the Treatment & Reception Rooms

Monday, June 20th, 2011

We’ve received some nice feedback on our newsletter (where we highlighted our blogs). We would welcome any thoughts on topics we might cover here or in future newsletters on our office and your Cleveland dental care.

An item we mentioned in “Smile Update” was our new flatscreen monitors in the treatment and reception rooms. They are DVD capable, so we are able to watch anything from dental techniques, which we have shown on NBC/Channel 3’s “Golden Opportunities,” “Good Company,” and their brand-new Saturday morning show “It’s About You!” to movies and TV shows for longer appointments.  Just let us know what you would like to watch!

American Academy of Cosmetic Meeting Recap

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Wendy and I just returned from Boston for the annual American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry – AACD – meeting.  It’s my favorite meeting of the year, as cosmetic dentists, dental hygienists, dental assistants, and dental office staff from around the world meet for continuing education, exchange of ideas, and an exhibit hall full of new dental products.  Seminars are taught by people like ABC’s Extreme Makeover dentist Bill Dorfman and nationally known educators Dr. Frank Spear and Dr. Gordon Christiansen.  Through the AACD, I have met a number of my mentors in dentistry, including the late Dr. Bob Nixon, who not only was responsible for the innovations behind porcelain veneers but also taught me the procedures and techniques behind them in a  hands-on course.

Next May, the AACD meeting will be held in Washington, D.C.

Wednesday, May 25th, 2011

We have had some very nice feedback on our latest newsletter and have had a number of requests for additional copies. If you would like a copy for family members and friends, please call Afsaneh or Karin.  Also, if you’d like to see us feature any procedure or technique, from laser gum contouring to porcelain veneers to digital x-rays, please let us know and we’ll work on including it in the next copy of ClevelandSmiles magazine.
